Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Translatium, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, in accordance with your plan.

You may not redistribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or use the app for unlawful purposes. You may not circumvent usage limits or license restrictions.

Translatium AI is an AI-powered translation engine designed for faster responses and higher-quality output. Usage is subject to the daily translation quota included with your current plan.

Translatium Engine is the built-in translation engine for stable everyday use. Usage is subject to the daily translation quota included with your current plan.

Translatium AI uses models from OpenAI. By using this engine, you acknowledge that your translation requests are processed by OpenAI and are subject to OpenAI's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Lifetime includes BYOK support. If you use BYOK, you use your own OpenAI API key, your usage is billed directly by OpenAI, and you are solely responsible for those charges. Supported BYOK models currently include GPT-4o mini, GPT-4.1 mini, GPT-5.4 mini, GPT-5 nano, and GPT-5.4 nano.

Translatium does not store your translation content or history, selected text, copied text, or personal documents on our servers.

We only store license information and anonymized usage metrics necessary for plan enforcement, abuse prevention, and service operations.

A valid license key is required to use the app. Each license key has a maximum number of device activations and a daily translation quota based on your plan.

License keys are non-transferable. Sharing license keys is prohibited. We reserve the right to revoke licenses that violate these Terms.

Paid plans, including Pro and Lifetime, may be purchased and managed inside the app. Payments are processed by Polar.sh as our payment platform.

All payments for Pro and Lifetime are final. No refunds will be provided under any circumstances or by any payment method for these plans.

If you cancel a Pro subscription, you will retain access until the end of the current paid billing period. If the subscription is not renewed after it expires, the related license will be deleted.

The app requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later, an Apple Silicon or Intel processor, Accessibility permission for selection-based translation, and an internet connection for translation services.

You agree not to use the app to violate laws, infringe intellectual property rights, bypass usage limits or security measures, abuse the service through automation, or process harmful or discriminatory content.

The app, including its design, code, and features, is owned by Translatium and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your license does not grant you any ownership rights to the app.

We may update the app periodically through Sparkle. Updates may include bug fixes, new features, or security patches. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of any modified terms.

The app is provided on an as-is basis without warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of translations, uninterrupted operation, or universal compatibility.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Translatium shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.

We may terminate or suspend your license immediately if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately, you must uninstall it from all devices, and unused plan periods are non-refundable.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Translatium operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
